#SPOTLIGHT ON SAYA NAOMI

Saya Naomi is an ORIGINAL Drag Queen artist whose presence is best known for her unique and fresh performances in New York and Chicago.

Saya Naomi holds true drag queen badness in her tiny fist, with one of the freshest, fishiest looks around today. Saya Naomi - the “Bad Girl of Halsted” - has arrived and is fiercer than ever, slaying the stages with the hottest jams and putting Beyoncé’s weave to shame. In addition to thriving at life she also stars in #OpenTVPresents first pilot, Nupita Obama Creates Vogua.

You're hair game is so strong, do you have favorite wig? If so, which one and why?

My hair. No I don't have a favorite I love them all but if I had to choose it would be any piece I didn't have to glue on.

What have you been up to since the production wrapped for #OpenTVPresents Nupita Obama Creates Vogua?

Since we wrapped Nupita I've been working on a Beauty Workshop at the Center on Halsted in the youth space, I'm the coordinator of youth programs.

What motivates you to get out of bed every morning?

Seeing the kids faces in the youth space I work at, my family and my goals.

Can you share your top three tracks to get ready to?

My top 3 tracks to get ready to are Say You Love Me remix by Jessie Ware, Go All Night by Jennifer Hudson and anything trill.

If you could meet one performer who would it be and why?

Beyoncé, she's a living doll and her talents are unstoppable. I love so much of her spoken words as much as her singing. I believe in her and would love to one day meet her.

Define your artistry in three words:

Humble, Skoochie and Grounded

Finish this sentence: If I wasn't Saya Naomi I would be ____________ because _______.

If I wasn't Saya Naomi I would be Katie Carter because I think that's who I would be if I were born a natural born woman hahaha.
