Notes From an Executive Diva

Each year, since our inception, I have learned so much about the power of storytelling. The past collection of months have been filled with nothing short of mind-bending lessons and tough invitations to grow and expand which is why It brings me extreme pleasure and endless joy to be able to open this year with a bit of good news.

After three beautiful years and 12 phenomenal artists, I’m elated to share that in 2022 we will be expanding our annual fellowship program to intersectional artists across the United States. OTV FELLOWS serve as a constant reminder that there are so many passionate intersectional stories in the world that are primed to reach the hearts and minds of audiences around the globe! Each application cycle, I’ve been blown away by the bravery, intention and authenticity shared through the scripts and treatments submitted to the program. It’s a true testament to the fact that we all have a role to play in empowering our siblings, lovers and friends to reach for their dreams.

Since the launch of the OTV Fellowship in 2019, artists from cities such as Oakland, New York, and Atlanta have inquired about the expansion of the fellowship program beyond Chicago so it’s a huge honor to be able to kick off our seventh year with this announcement.

On behalf of the OTV Leadership Team, Evolutionary Governing Body and the recently formed Integrity Board I am so proud to share this deeply intentional growth. Additionally, I strongly believe that this is a beautiful opportunity to welcome a fresh crop of creatives,  storytellers and filmmakers that are interested in not only developing a project but creating a sustainable career in the Film/TV industry.

The time is now for us to invest in the next generation of intersectional storytellers.

How will you help seed that investment?

Never not dreaming of ease & equity,
